Having photographed and directed hundreds of music videos and commercials over the past 15 years, Dave Meyers has firmly established himself as one of the industry’s most prolific and sought-after talent.
Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Dave developed his love for film while working for a small local landmark cinema at the age of 17. He attended Loyola Marymount University where he majored in Film Production and Philosophy.
Soon after, inspired by a chance meeting with director Gus Van Sant, Dave spent the next few years directing over 200 of the music industry’s best and brightest, including artists such as his frequent and longtime collaborator Pink, Ice Cube, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, and many more. His work has brought a slew of nominations and many awards, including a Grammy in 2005 for Best Music Video and 11 MTV Video Music Awards including Best Video of the Year for the widely popular Katy Perry song “Firework”. He also recently directed the music video for Pink’s song “Just Like Fire” from Disney’s soundtrack for “Alice Through the Looking Glass”.
With the famous Apple iPod Silhouettes Campaign, Dave exploded into the advertising scene directing notable and award-winning work for the world’s top brands.
Dave directed his first studio feature with the Michael Bay produced film “The Hitcher”. Dave has since chosen to expand his creativity and vision to the big screen once again with his current feature film “Moving Day”, a dark comedy that will shoot in 2017.
